Apryl found me on good 'ol Instagram, and as COVID rearranged her wedding plans from a destination wedding in Charleston to a backyard celebration in Charlotte, I was happily hired to capture it all. As their family and friends gathered under the open air space of the quaint Carriker Cottage, Apryl and Mike exchanged vows and had a beautifully sweet day of holy matrimony.
Here are their stories, as told by Apryl :
How did you meet?
Two strangers with mutual friends attend a wedding and meet without any expectations. Casual conversations quickly turned into friendship, attraction, and love. Their relationship progressed very naturally. They grew together as best friends, and on December 20, 2019 Mike asked Apryl to be his best friend forever.
How did he propose?
The plan was simple. Mike would fly in on Saturday morning to ride down with Apryl and her family to Myrtle Beach. However, unbeknownst to Apryl, Mike arrived a day earlier than expected to surprise her. With the help of her family and friends, he arranged an intimate dinner at their favorite restaurant, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. When she arrived at the restaurant, she realized this wasn’t the usual girl's night out that she anticipated. There stood her parents, Mike’s family, and a few of their close friends. Each person at the table presented her with two long stem red roses. As she took her seat, Mike appeared with a bouquet of roses and a ring box in his hand. He got down on one knee, professed his love for her and asked Apryl to be his wife in front of everyone at the restaurant. Without hesitation, she said “YES”!
